			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The WCDR is seeking a new Word Weaver editor.</p>
<p>Duties include:</p>
<ul>
<li>Develop an editorial calendar in collaboration with the Board&#8217;s PR Director.</li>
<li>Design 12-page newsletter (distributed bimonthly) using a graphic design or word processing program</li>
<li>Edit all content and adhere to <em>The Word Weaver style guide</em></li>
<li>Assign articles, communicate with regular columnists, co-ordinate writing challenges, ensure deadlines are met, email members as necessary</li>
<li>Send final draft of Word Weaver to the WCDR copy editor for final editing</li>
<li>Arrange for printing of hard copies and distribution to editorial contributors and paying hard-copy subscribers</li>
<li>Communicate with advertisers re: ad placement, payment, graphic specifications</li>
<li>Communicate regularly with WCDR’s board of directors</li>
<li>Keep track of all expenses and contributor payments; submit to WCDR treasurer</li>
<li>Stay abreast of WCDR contests, breakfast speakers and special events for inclusion in the newsletter</li>
<li>Mentor an intern to both help with WW duties, and to prepare successor.</li>
</ul>
<p>Applicant must be a current WCDR member and maintain his or her membership throughout their tenure.</p>
<p><strong>Term of position is 2 years maximum</strong></p>
<p><strong>This position is a volunteer position, but an honorarium is paid.</strong></p>
<p>Applications must be received by midnight September 12, 2010.</p>

His poem, written after his first day on Lamu Island after taking a walking tour of Lamu Town with the Summer Literary Seminars group he was traveling with, will be the featured poem for the month of September…and will remain archived on the site for two years. Kevin is extremely proud to have had his work chosen by the current Poet Laureate, Pierre DesRuisseaux. </p>
