U25 Panel – Sponsorship

SPONSORSHIP OF WCDR U25
Reach a Targeted Audience of Readers and Writers!

The Writers’ Community of Durham Region has been growing in membership and community attention for many years, and now has over 300 members, with a reach of thousands in media attention and event exposure.

What started as an idea for a panel discussion of writers who write for the under-25 market, quickly turned into an exciting new event for the WCDR. The March RoundTable meeting will see industry professionals coming together for a morning that is sure to benefit all writers! The discussion will center around craft topics universal to fiction writing—not just for those who write for the U25 market. However, WCDR will welcome several authors who write for young people—from Middle Grade fiction (9-12 years old), to Young Adult fiction (13-17 years old), to the exciting and relatively new market, New Adult fiction (18-25 years old).

Local youth are invited, and WCDR has great things planned for young writers:

  • Teens and under 25 will join WCDR members and guests to listen to the panel discussion, and have a chance to ask questions of the panelists
  • Visiting youth will receive a bag of writing related swag, which will include a ticket to our youth-only raffle
  • Youth will have the opportunity to participate in a special writing challenge. Those who enter the contest have the chance to win and be published on our website and Word Weaver publication–and get paid!
  • More information to come!
